Mike Brown got an invitation from Tom Coughlin and immediately picked up the phone.

New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown relished the opportunity to meet former New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin on stage Wednesday at an event for Coughlin's Jay Fund Foundation. Brown revealed after Saturday's practice that he called his father in excitement after receiving the invitation. Brown praised Coughlin's championship-winning 2007 and 2011 Giants teams for overcoming regular-season adversity to prepare for postseason success.
Brown also noted the contrast in their demeanors, describing himself as goofy compared to Coughlin's serious presence. Turning to team matters, Brown praised Bruce Brown's defensive and offensive efforts in training camp and preseason games as he competes for a final roster spot alongside players including Jaden Akins, Tyler Nickel, James Wiseman, and Pacôme Dadiet.
