Who would have thought that a night of celebration win would turn into a medical emergency for Steve Young? On January 29, 1995, Steve Young finally got his chance to shine on football’s biggest stage. Young put on a show…

Following his historic victory in Super Bowl XXIX on January 29, 1995, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young required medical attention after becoming severely dehydrated. Journalist Peter King recalled that after Young rapidly drank three Gatorades following post-game interviews in the heat, he vomited in a limousine and became virtually catatonic back at his hotel room, prompting paramedics to administer two IV drips of saline.
Despite his physical exhaustion, Young remained thrilled with his performance, having thrown a record six touchdown passes in the 49ers' 49-26 victory over the San Diego Chargers. Former agent Leigh Steinberg described the dramatic hotel scene as Young celebrated the milestone with visitors while recovering into the early morning.
