Anaheim secures a gritty road victory behind Ville Husso’s stellar goaltending, though injuries to key forwards Cutter Gauthier and Ryan Poehling cast a shadow over the win.

The Anaheim Ducks concluded their early-season Canadian road trip on Saturday evening with a 4-2 victory against the Calgary Flames. Ville Husso made his first start of the year in goal for Anaheim, stopping 27 of 29 shots, while Calgary's Dustin Wolf stopped 24 of 28. Frank Vatrano and Jackson LaCombe each scored for the Ducks, and Ryan Poehling netted the game-winning shorthanded goal.
The victory came at a significant physical cost for Anaheim due to two key injuries. Star forward Cutter Gauthier exited after ten minutes with an upper-body injury, while Poehling crashed into the goalpost following his winning tally and needed help off the ice. Defenseman Tristan Luneau led the team with 23:42 of ice time as Anaheim shortened its bench down the stretch.
