Carolina Hurricanes Receive Shocking New Alexander Nikishin Trade Update

According to insider Elliotte Friedman, there is currently no immediate trade possibility for Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Alexander Nikishin despite his summer trade request. The 24-year-old requested a move away from Carolina, but ongoing discussions have stalled, raising the possibility that he could ultimately remain with the Hurricanes during their season.

Teams reportedly linked to Nikishin include the St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Los Angeles Kings, and Winnipeg Jets, but none have shown willingness to sign him to a new deal. TJ French notes that Nikishin risks hurting his contract value by staying off the ice while Carolina holds first place in the Metropolitan Division.
