New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns is not happy that the reigning NBA champions have paused contract extension talks shortly before the start of the 2026-27 season.
Karl-Anthony Towns expressed disappointment after the New York Knicks paused contract extension negotiations ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season. The Knicks announced they tabled discussions with all extension-eligible players to prioritize regular season preparations, despite previously offering Towns a reported four-year, $200 million deal.
Towns was eligible for up to $276 million and holds a $61 million player option for 2027-28. Despite being affected by the front office decision, the big man stated he remains committed to helping New York defend its championship.
