BOBBY MADDEN reckons VAR got Saturday's Kevin Kelsy VAR call spot on, despite Neil McCann's protests. Killie boss McCann fumed at the award of Rangers' second goal in the Ibrox side's 3-1 victory over struggling Killie. Speaking after the match…

Former referee Bobby Madden stated that VAR made the correct decision by allowing Kevin Kelsy's goal during Rangers' 3-1 victory against Kilmarnock. Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann protested the decision, arguing that the striker handled the ball in the buildup to the second goal. Speaking on the 'So Near, Yet So VAR' podcast, Madden reviewed the footage in slow motion and concluded there was no clear evidence of handball to justify overturning the goal.
Madden cited UEFA guidance advocating a higher threshold for VAR intervention, insisting officials should only step in to correct clear and obvious errors. The result briefly lifted Rangers to the top of the Scottish Premiership table before Celtic regained first place with a victory over Motherwell.
