Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan will miss the remainder of the postseason, manager Kevin Cash announced on Sunday. McClanahan had been sidelined on the 15-day injured list due to left forearm tightness suffered during his start on September 3 against Texas. Cash confirmed the pitcher will stay with the team to support his teammates during the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians.
The 29-year-old starter made 24 appearances in 2026, recording a 10-7 record with a 3.36 ERA and 106 strikeouts across 118 innings. This season marked an effective comeback for McClanahan, who previously missed extended time following an August 2023 Tommy John surgery and a 2025 nerve procedure.
