Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash announced that pitcher Shane McClanahan is officially ruled out for the ALCS and World Series, ending his 2026 season. McClanahan had been sidelined with forearm tightness since early September. Meanwhile, Red Sox infielder Caleb Durbin underwent surgery to repair a dislocated left pinkie finger, and Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. successfully had laser eye surgery in Miami.
Durbin played through his dislocated finger during the summer before undergoing the procedure last week. Similarly, Guerrero Jr. completed his corrective vision procedure following the conclusion of Toronto's season.
