Kimi Antonelli is closing in on winning the 2026 F1 drivers' world championship. Here's how he can in the United States.

Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli can secure his first Formula 1 drivers' championship at the upcoming United States Grand Prix in Austin. Antonelli holds a 102-point lead over teammate George Russell following his third-place finish in Singapore. With 125 points remaining after Austin, Antonelli will claim the title if he wins the race and Russell finishes ninth or lower.
Should Antonelli win and Russell place ninth, a 125-point margin would secure the championship for the Italian via a countback on grand prix victories. Winning the title in the United States would make Antonelli the youngest champion in F1 history at 20 years old, breaking Sebastian Vettel's record.
