The Story in 60 Seconds

Williams F1 test and reserve driver Luke Browning was involved in a dramatic four-car pit lane collision during a Super Formula race at Fuji Speedway on Sunday. Around the midpoint of the 41-lap contest, Browning was forced to brake hard to avoid Nirei Fukuzumi, who had been released directly into his path as Browning approached his pit box.

The abrupt stop triggered an immediate chain reaction behind him in the pit lane. Syun Koide collided with Browning's left rear corner, turning Browning sideways, before Rikuto Kobayashi ran into Koide from behind. The chaotic event, which featured eight retirements and three safety cars, was ultimately won by Ayumu Iwasa.
