The 41-year-old beat Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord with 3:13 remaining in the first period to briefly put Washington ahead 2-1 on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The tally was assisted by brothers Aliaksei and Ilya Protas, marking the first time both assisted on an Ovechkin goal together. Daccord became the 190th different goaltender Ovechkin has scored against, and the goal brought Ovechkin to 1,007 combined regular-season and playoff goals, leaving him nine away from Wayne Gretzky's all-time record.
