The Vancouver Canucks may have come down to earth recently with two straight lopsided losses, but their prospects have not. Early on, not only have their blue-chippers impressed, but late-round picks as well.
Vancouver Canucks prospects Adam Novotny, Ty Mueller, and Braeden Cootes have produced strong individual starts during the opening month of the 2026-27 season. Novotny has recorded four goals and nine points across his first seven games in junior hockey, while Mueller has scored four goals and five points in four AHL games with the Abbotsford Canucks.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old rookie forward Braeden Cootes achieved multiple milestones with Abbotsford, scoring a third-period power-play game-winner in a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Eagles on October 10. The Hockey Writers notes that Vancouver's 2026 draft class will serve as vital building blocks under new general manager Ryan Johnson and co-presidents Henrik and Daniel Sedin.
