The Story in 60 Seconds

Shaun Edwards has signed a contract to become Argentina's defence coach through the conclusion of the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. The 59-year-old will join head coach Felipe Contepomi's coaching staff following the completion of his short-term role with England's Red Roses on October 30. His commitment officially ends speculation regarding a potential switch to Steve Borthwick's England coaching setup.

Edwards was sacked by France earlier this year following several Six Nations title campaigns, after previously enjoying a successful stint alongside Warren Gatland with Wales. Alongside Edwards' arrival, Los Pumas also confirmed the return of former head coach Mario Ledesma, who will serve as the team's forwards coach ahead of their upcoming European Tests.
