AC Milan were left frustrated by several contentious refereeing decisions during their 1-1 draw against Sassuolo on Sunday night. Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring for Milan in the 63rd minute before Odenthal equalized for Sassuolo. Following the match, scrutiny focused on uncalled penalty area fouls and a harsh tackle that went unpunished by the on-field officials and VAR.
The three key incidents included Duje Caleta-Car holding Goncalo Ramos, Ignace Van der Brempt kicking and pulling Koni De Winter, and Armand Lauriente committing a dangerous challenge on Mario Gila. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan owner Gerry Cardinale was unhappy that no further disciplinary actions or penalties were awarded.
