We all know that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a disastrous 2026 season, and we may have just learned something that could help explain part of the reason why he struggled to produce anywhere close to his usual standards.
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has undergone successful laser eye surgery performed by Dr. Gabriel Lazcano at the Laser Eye Center of Miami. The clinic announced via Instagram that the 27-year-old superstar was doing very well during his post-operative visit following the corrective procedure.
The procedure follows a career-worst 2026 campaign in which Guerrero batted .260 with nine home runs and 57 RBIs across 144 games. The article notes that vision issues, along with a back injury and declining confidence, could help explain his struggles after signing a 14-year, $500 million extension in April 2025.
