The Philadelphia 76ers are unlikely to sign a replacement big man on a standard contract before early December despite losing backup center Ariel Hukporti to a season-ending Achilles tear, according to Marc Stein. Hukporti suffered the injury during Philadelphia's preseason opener against the New York Knicks, leaving Adem Bona, Dominick Barlow, and Jabari Walker behind Joel Embiid.

Alternatively, waiving Walker's partially guaranteed contract could create flexibility, though the front office reportedly is not considering that option.
