Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans announced that running back David Montgomery is considered week-to-week after suffering a groin injury during Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. If Montgomery is sidelined, running back Woody Marks is poised to take over as the team's primary ball carrier.
Montgomery joined Houston after being acquired via trade from the Detroit Lions in exchange for offensive lineman Juice Scruggs and draft picks. Through five games in the 2026 season, the 28-year-old back has logged 52 carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns, along with seven receptions for 67 yards and a score.
