Liverpool beaten for the first time under Andoni Iraola
Manchester City defeated 10-man Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season. Enzo Maresca's side overcame a hostile atmosphere, with Erling Haaland breaking the deadlock shortly after Ryan Gravenberch received a second yellow card. Substitutes Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki added late goals to seal the victory.
The defeat was Liverpool's first under head coach Andoni Iraola, whose squad was depleted by injuries to Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, and Dominik Szoboszlai. Despite dominating the first half, Liverpool were undone by Gravenberch's red card, enabling City to secure consecutive league wins at Anfield for the first time since 1953.
