Jos Buttler has had surgery on his left hamstring and will miss England's white-ball tour of Australia, with no date set for his return.

England batter Jos Buttler has undergone surgery on his left hamstring, ruling him out of England's upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. Buttler suffered the injury during the second ODI against Sri Lanka at Headingley and will also miss the tri-series in Pakistan. He confirmed the successful procedure from a hospital bed on social media, with no official timeline set for his international return.
The surgery coincides with the announcement of England's central contracts, where Buttler received a one-year extension through September 2027. Replacements Jordan Cox and Tom Banton were awarded multi-year and first-time central contracts, respectively. Buttler is next scheduled to play competitively in January's SA20 tournament with Durban's Super Giants.
