The Toronto Raptors have officially brought in towering center Jamarion Sharp on a training-camp deal, giving the 7-foot-5 big man another opportunity to earn an NBA foothold after a circuitous path through the developmental ranks, via Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.
The Toronto Raptors have signed 7-foot-5 center Jamarion Sharp to an Exhibit 10 training-camp deal ahead of the upcoming NBA season. To make room on the roster, the Raptors waived point guard Chucky Hepburn after he suffered a hamstring injury. Sharp previously played for Toronto during the Las Vegas Summer League before spending a brief stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, who waived him in late September.
Sharp arrives with strong defensive credentials, having won the G League Defensive Player of the Year award with the Texas Legends while leading the league in blocks. Because he has not yet appeared in an NBA regular-season game, Sharp remains eligible to have his camp deal converted into a two-way contract if he earns a roster spot.
