Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has issued a financial warning to young athletes earning significant money through modern NIL deals. Speaking on the Beyond Ballin with Lawrencia Moten podcast, Vick urged college players to prioritize basic financial literacy, pay their taxes on time, and avoid taking on reckless debt, warning that early earnings will not last a lifetime.

Vick referenced his own financial collapse, which saw him file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2008 with over $17.6 million in debt despite previously signing a record 10-year, $138 million NFL contract. He cautioned athletes against placing blind trust in the wrong financial advisers, noting he ultimately repaid $17.4 million of his debt by November 2017.
