The former Bulldog reflects on a ugly 2026 season that gave him a fresh start.

Bronson Xerri has revealed the reasons behind his decision to leave Sydney and sign a three-year deal with the Melbourne Storm. Speaking on Josh Mansour's Unscripted Podcast, the 26-year-old explained that relocating away from his family and friends provides a crucial opportunity to gain independence and make a fresh start in his rugby league career.
After a challenging period with the Canterbury Bulldogs marked by injury, position changes, and salary cap pressures, Xerri narrowed his choices down to the Parramatta Eels and Melbourne. Despite initial interest in remaining in Sydney with Parramatta, Xerri chose the Storm following compelling discussions with head coach Craig Bellamy and football director Frank Ponissi.
