The Tampa Bay Buccaneers delivered their best defensive performance of the season Thursday night, and Zyon McCollum played a major role. The fifth-year cornerback helped neutralize CeeDee Lamb, who entered the matchup leading the NFL in receiving.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Zyon McCollum delivered a standout defensive performance to neutralize Dallas Cowboys star receiver CeeDee Lamb in a 24-16 victory on Thursday night. Across 42 coverage snaps, McCollum allowed zero receptions and held opposing passers to a 39.6 passer rating when targeted. Facing Lamb on 11 matchups, McCollum conceded just one target from quarterback Dak Prescott and prevented a reception.
McCollum also held George Pickens without a catch on five matchups, recording a pass defensed during the contest. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles praised McCollum's mental growth and extensive film study, noting that the fifth-year cornerback is playing like an All-Pro caliber defender.
