At Celtics training camp on Monday, Joe Mazzulla shared his offseason message to Luka Garza. Despite the challenge, Garza is once again ready to persevere.

Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla expressed strong confidence in center Luka Garza during training camp at the Auerbach Center, highlighting his character and resilience amid competition in the frontcourt. Mazzulla noted that Garza is used to fighting for opportunities, having previously earned his place in Boston after being out of the NBA. The head coach also visited Garza in Iowa during the offseason to maintain communication.
Garza faces competition for playing time alongside centers Neemias Queta and Mitchell Robinson on Boston's depth chart. Despite the crowded frontcourt, Garza has performed well in exhibition play, scoring 22 points in a 124-113 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers and recording seven rebounds in a 144-106 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
