The former Wales coach is now favourite to take charge for the World Cup, with reports stating players have already been told

Former Wales head coach Warren Gatland is reportedly leading the race to take over the Fiji national rugby team. According to reports, players have already been informed of the impending move, with the Fiji Rugby Union expected to make an official announcement soon. Fiji chief executive Koli Sewabu confirmed that negotiations are in the final stages ahead of a busy autumn schedule.
The head coach position carries a 14-month contract covering the upcoming Rugby World Cup. While former South Africa coach Jake White was also in contention, financial demands have reportedly hindered his chances. Former Wales defense coach Shaun Edwards was linked to the vacancy as well but recently agreed to join Argentina instead.
