The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Castleford Tigers forward Joe Stimson has returned to Australia to sign with Group 9 Rugby League outfit Temora Dragons. The 30-year-old departed Castleford after making 39 appearances across an 18-month stay that began midway through the 2025 campaign. Although three Super League clubs, including Leigh Leopards, previously explored signing the versatile forward for 2027, interest faded and led to his move home.

Stimson brings extensive top-flight experience back to his hometown club, having made 114 NRL appearances for Melbourne Storm, Canterbury Bulldogs, and Gold Coast Titans. Temora Dragons announced the free transfer on Instagram following their recent Grand Final defeat against the Gundagai Tigers.
