Max Verstappen and McLaren-backed Dries Van Langendonck secures British F4 championship in his first full season of car racing, adding to his Formula Winter Series honours.

McLaren junior driver Dries Van Langendonck clinched the 2026 British Formula 4 championship at Brands Hatch on Saturday, October 10. The 16-year-old Belgian, racing for Rodin Motorsport, secured the title by finishing second behind Hitech driver Theo Palmer in the opening race of the season finale, gaining an insurmountable points lead with two races remaining.
The championship victory marks a successful debut campaign in single-seaters for Van Langendonck, who also claimed the Formula Winter Series earlier in the year. Along with his role in the McLaren Driver Development Programme, Van Langendonck has received backing from four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and his management team since July.
