Australian boxing promoter No Limit has announced Tim Tszyu will challenge Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight title.

Promotional company No Limit has announced that former junior middleweight titleholder Tim Tszyu will challenge WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara. Tszyu has competed at 160 pounds since his second loss to Sebastian Fundora in 2025, recording three consecutive victories including a July win over Errol Spence Jr. Tszyu aims to claim a world title in a second division under trainer Jeff Fenech.
The 43-year-old Lara represents boxing's oldest active world titleholder and remains undefeated since a 2018 split decision loss to Jarrett Hurd. Lara's most recent title defense came in December 2025 with a 12-round decision over Johan Gonzalez, after original opponent Janibek Alimkhanuly failed a drug test. No Limit CEO George Rose highlighted the difficulty of the matchup, praising Tszyu for actively seeking the dangerous title clash.
