Former super welterweight titlist Tim Tszyu is set to challenge WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara, according to an announcement from No Limit Boxing. Fox Sports AU reports that the championship bout is expected to take place in late November, with Gold Coast emerging as a strong possibility for the host location.
The 43-year-old Lara enters the bout with a 32-3-3 record, while Tszyu holds a 28-3 record following a move up to 160 pounds that recently featured a decision victory over Errol Spence Jr. Bad Left Hook writer Patrick Stumberg considers the fight a winnable matchup for Tszyu due to the age gap and favorable stylistic pairing.
