The Story in 60 Seconds

Arsenal have received a major boost in their pursuit of Julian Alvarez, with Atletico Madrid reportedly slashing their asking price for the forward to €120 million (£101m). According to Spanish outlet Sport, the valuation dropped from €200 million (£169m) following Alvarez's slow start to the season, opening the door for Mikel Arteta's side to launch a potential permanent transfer approach in January.

The Gunners are reportedly considering including Viktor Gyokeres in negotiations to offset costs, as Atletico maintain interest in the Swedish striker.
