Brayden Schenn is sharing his wisdom with Cal Ritchie as the two have been playing on a line together

New York Islanders center Cal Ritchie is relying on veteran forward Brayden Schenn for mentorship during his second NHL season. Following an injury to Mat Barzal that sidelined him for the team's first five games, Ritchie stepped into a top-six center role. The second-year player skate alongside Schenn and rookie Victor Eklund, crediting the veteran with providing crucial guidance on and off the ice during shifts.
The trio has been highly productive early in the season, scoring three goals without conceding any at 5-on-5 play. Schenn, who joined the Islanders at last season's trade deadline, has recorded two goals and three assists through five games. The line practiced together ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Vancouver Canucks.
