Congratulations Pour In from Patrick Mahomes & Co. as Chiefs Rookie Announces Major Personal Update

Kansas City Chiefs rookie offensive tackle Kahlil Benson announced that he and his girlfriend, Jayda, are expecting a baby. Benson shared the news in an Instagram post on October 10, 2026, displaying Polaroid sonogram images during the Chiefs' bye week. Following the announcement, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and teammate Emmett Johnson quickly sent congratulations, joined by other athletes and fans across social media.

The personal announcement comes amid a breakthrough rookie campaign for the 24-year-old offensive lineman. After going undrafted in 2026 following his college career at Indiana University, Benson signed with Kansas City as a free agent, earned the starting left tackle position for Week 1, and subsequently received NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors.
