Stadio Olimpico is about to host its first UEFA Champions League match in more than six years as Roma and Real Madrid go head-to-head in a mouth-watering fixture on Wednesday.
Roma host Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday in their first UEFA Champions League home match in over six years. Managed by Gian Piero Gasperini, Roma drew 1-1 with Fenerbahce on matchday one, extending their winless European run to four games. Meanwhile, former Roma boss Jose Mourinho returns with a Real Madrid side that opened their continental campaign by defeating Inter 2-1.
Roma are without injured starting goalkeeper Mile Svilar, paving the way for Pier Luigi Gollini to start, while Donyell Malen is expected to lead their attack. Real Madrid travel without Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo, and Raul Asencio, though Dean Huijsen is available again after a domestic ban. The Cult of Calcio predicts Real Madrid will edge out Roma for a victory.
