The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 2-1 in preseason and have two more games left before they officially start their 2026-27 NBA season against the Golden State Warriors on Oct.
Austin Reaves stated that the Los Angeles Lakers must reduce turnovers and resolve defensive miscommunications before beginning their regular season on October 21 against the Golden State Warriors. Speaking after practice on Sunday, Reaves noted that head coach JJ Redick highlighted the team committing at least 20 turnovers in each of their three preseason contests, which have collectively resulted in 76 opponent points.
Reaves cited himself and Luka Doncic as major factors behind the high turnover count while the team emphasizes playing with high intensity. The Lakers, currently holding a 2-1 preseason record, are also awaiting the debut of center Walker Kessler, who has missed time with a jammed pinky finger, as Redick works to finalize the remaining two starting lineup spots.
