A Reds cult hero is overseeing one of the most successful domestic football projects in the game today

Former Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia is currently serving as chief executive of Malaysian club Johor Darul Ta'zim, overseeing a world-record 113-game league unbeaten run. Garcia took the boardroom role in March 2025 alongside manager Xisco Munoz, with the club dominating domestic competition and targeting success in the Asian Champions League.
During the previous campaign, the team scored 117 goals and conceded only 10 in 24 matches. Garcia stated that his goal is to help grow regional football and maintain a European-style mentality at the club.
