Avalanche Game 6 at Dallas Stars: Home and Home Begins Without Makar, Lines, Notes & How To Watch

The Colorado Avalanche visit the Dallas Stars on October 13, 2026, opening a back-to-back home-and-home series without defenseman Cale Makar. Makar returned to Denver to be with his wife, who is expecting twins, leading to Noah Juulsen entering the lineup and Devon Toews taking over top power-play duties. Mackenzie Blackwood starts in goal for Colorado against Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger in the nationally televised matchup.

Colorado enters the game with a 3-2-0 record behind a league-leading offense, while Dallas sits at 2-2-1 with strong defensive numbers. Former Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen is set to play on the Stars' top line, but Matt Duchene and Joel Kiviranta remain unavailable due to injuries.
