The Nuggets waived Lonnie Walker, who was expected to fight for the 15th and final roster spot. Cam Whitmore is now in position to fill it.

The Denver Nuggets have officially waived guard Lonnie Walker IV, opening a path for two-way player Cam Whitmore to eventually claim the team's 15th roster spot. David Decker of Nugg Love argues that Julian Strawther's strong preseason performance simplified Denver's decision to let Walker go.
Decker suggests the Nuggets should keep their final standard roster spot vacant until Whitmore reaches his 50-game two-way limit. Elevating Whitmore would ensure his eligibility for postseason depth, provided he continues to develop his defense.
