U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes on Tuesday ordered a halt to tree-cutting at the East Potomac Golf Course until Oct. 26.

U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes has ordered a halt to tree-cutting at the historic East Potomac Golf Course in Washington, D.C., until Oct. 26. The decision pauses renovation work connected to President Donald Trump's plans to transform the public course into a world-class venue capable of hosting major championships.
The ruling followed a contentious hearing where Judge Reyes criticized the government for deceiving the court after at least 400 trees were removed over a holiday weekend with minimal notice. The lawsuit, brought by the DC Preservation League and two local golfers, requires the government to give three business days' advance notice before making irreversible changes.
