ESPN's Dan Orlovsky showers praise for the Lions' Jared Goff, calling him the second-best QB in the NFC early this season

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky stated on the Pat McAfee Show that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is the only NFC quarterback playing definitively better than Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff through the first five weeks of the season. Despite Detroit's 3-2 start, Goff has recorded impressive individual numbers to keep the Lions offense performing at a high level.
Through five games, Goff has thrown for 1,485 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and zero interceptions, while Purdy has led the 5-0 49ers with 1,196 passing yards, an NFL-leading 13 touchdowns, and two interceptions. Heavy's Avik Das notes that while Detroit's defense has struggled, Goff's offensive unit ranks sixth in the league with 393.8 yards per game.
