Floyd Schofield Jr. and his father strongly criticized Shakur Stevenson following Schofield's unanimous decision victory over Lucas Bahdi for the vacant WBA lightweight title. Speaking on Fight Hub TV, the elder Schofield claimed Stevenson lacks punching power and is only deemed elite through his associations with figures like Andre Ward, Terence Crawford, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Schofield Jr. also pushed back against Stevenson's social media post labeling him a "C-level fighter," accusing Stevenson of excessively relying on ring movement.
Despite the heated verbal exchanges, Team Schofield is reportedly not targeting Stevenson for their next bout. Instead, Schofield's father noted that an immediate clash with Stevenson is not in their current plans, pointing toward William Zepeda as a potentially easier matchup to arrange in the lightweight division.
