Vito Mielnicki Targets Major Step Up Against Xander Zayas

Vito Mielnicki Jr. has publicly called for a bout against former unified light middleweight champion Xander Zayas. Mielnicki proposed staging the potential fight at Madison Square Garden or in Puerto Rico following his recent victory over Austin Williams. Promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested interim bouts for both fighters ahead of a proposed summer meeting.

Boxing News 24 writes that Zayas would present a significant step up in class for Mielnicki, offering quicker combinations and a polished offensive style. The outlet notes that while no contracts are signed, the matchup would provide Zayas an opportunity for an exciting win following previous decision victories over Jorge Garcia Perez and Abass Baraou.
