The former Manchester United boss spoke about suffering the life-threatening ailment in an interview with BBC Breakfast

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken candidly about surviving a life-threatening brain hemorrhage in 2018. Speaking in an interview with BBC Breakfast, the 84-year-old admitted he was terrified following his emergency surgery and described the frightening experience of temporarily losing his voice when trying to communicate with his visiting grandsons.
Ferguson credited his late wife Cathy with supporting him through his recovery and helping him return to Old Trafford within four months. He also detailed how a speech therapist helped restore his voice through word exercises. Ferguson appeared on the program to promote his new book, "Games of My Life," which reflects on 21 defining matches from his career.
