A perfect night on special teams, huge goals, and a hat-trick from Logan Stankoven powered the Hurricanes to victory over the Canucks.

The Carolina Hurricanes earned a dominant 7-2 home victory against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night at Lenovo Center. Center Logan Stankoven recorded his first career NHL hat trick and reached his 100th career NHL point in the win. Carolina was dominant across special teams, finishing three-for-three on the power play and four-for-four on the penalty kill, alongside a shorthanded goal.
Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov kept Vancouver scoreless through a three-goal first period for Carolina. Mark Jankowski and Stankoven added to the lead in the second period, while Jake DeBrusk scored two goals for the Canucks. Vancouver replaced goaltender Kevin Lankinen with Leevi Merilainen in the third period before Carolina closed out their first home victory of the season.
