The Anaheim Ducks have recalled top prospect forward Roger McQueen from the AHL's San Diego Gulls to make his NHL debut. The move comes as veteran forward Ryan Poehling was placed on injured reserve with an MCL sprain, sidelining him for an expected six to eight weeks. Additionally, forward Cutter Gauthier is considered day to day due to an upper-body injury.
McQueen, selected No. 10 overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, practiced on Anaheim's third line alongside Frank Vatrano and A.J. Greer. The 19-year-old forward recorded three points in seven AHL games this season after tallying 27 points in 36 games for Providence College last year. He joins a surging Ducks roster that opened the season with a 4-1 record.
