Forward Alex DeBrincat and the Detroit Red Wings are finalizing a seven-year contract extension valued at $13 million annually, ESPN reported on Tuesday night.
Forward Alex DeBrincat and the Detroit Red Wings are reportedly finalizing a seven-year contract extension worth $13 million annually, according to ESPN. The 28-year-old leads Detroit with eight points, four goals, and four assists in six games this season, including a two-goal performance in a recent 5-4 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.
DeBrincat was eligible for an extension this past summer ahead of the new collective bargaining agreement, which reduced the maximum contract length from eight years to seven. Across 702 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, and Red Wings, the two-time All-Star has recorded 603 points.
