Bruno Fernandes has made a disappointing start to the season, and he was below his best again in Man Utd's defeat to Atletico Madrid.

Steven Railston writes that Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is struggling with a significant dip in form and fatigue following a poor performance in Tuesday's Champions League defeat against Atletico Madrid. Fernandes missed a key opportunity and was eventually substituted by manager Michael Carrick after Atletico took a 2-0 lead.
Railston argues that Carrick has contributed to the issue by overplaying Fernandes across a congested fixture schedule despite the midfielder playing through injury. Although Carrick publicly backed his captain to recover his form, Railston suggests that the midfielder's recent displays indicate he remains far from his best.
