Minnesota’s injury crisis deepens as the captain joins a growing list of sidelined stars, forcing a defensive reshuffle ahead of a high-stakes clash with the Jets.

Minnesota Wild captain Jared Spurgeon will miss Tuesday's matchup against the Winnipeg Jets due to an upper-body injury. The 36-year-old defenseman sustained a hit during the third period of Monday's contest and had his shoulder evaluated on the bench, though he finished the game before issues arose the following morning.
Spurgeon's absence adds to a growing injury list for Minnesota, which is already without Marcus Foligno, Nick Foligno, Brock Faber, Nico Sturm, and Filip Gustavsson just seven games into the season. The Wild reshuffled their blue line, pairing Jonas Brodin with Quinn Hughes and Zach Bogosian with Olli Maatta.
