Ottawa finally hit a wall with their first bad game of the season.
The Ottawa Senators saw their winning streak come to an end with a 7-2 defeat against the St. Louis Blues. Pius Suter opened the scoring shorthanded for the Blues before Jake Neighbours doubled the lead in the second period. Although Claude Giroux responded with a wrist shot for Ottawa, Mason McTavish answered 30 seconds later to keep St. Louis firmly in control.
St. Louis pulled away in the third period with second goals from both Suter and Neighbours, alongside tallies from McTavish and Adam Jiricek. Fabian Zetterlund scored a late power-play consolation goal for Ottawa, while forward Ridly Greig exited the contest early due to a strain.
