The 49ers will be without Dre Greenlaw against the Commanders after the NFL upheld the linebacker's one-game suspension following his appeal.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw will serve a one-game, unpaid suspension after hearing officer James Thrash upheld the penalty on appeal. Greenlaw is set to miss San Francisco's Week 6 game on Monday, October 19, against the Washington Commanders at Levi's Stadium.
The NFL suspended Greenlaw for unsportsmanlike conduct following his ejection against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. The penalty stemmed from Greenlaw headbutting Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV with his helmet following a play involving quarterback Sam Darnold. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan expressed disappointment with the suspension.
