Out-of-favour India pacer Umesh Yadav said that he had failed to find the same backing from his home state association upon return from the injury.

Indian fast bowler Umesh Yadav has explained his decision to leave Vidarbha for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy, claiming his former coach wanted him out of the team. Speaking after making his debut for Punjab as a guest player, the 38-year-old pacer revealed he did not receive backing from Vidarbha following his return from a severe Achilles tendon injury.
Yadav marked his return to first-class cricket with a five-wicket haul against Assam in New Chandigarh. He also called for clear communication from national selectors regarding veteran players, stating that selection should be based on fitness and performance rather than age.
